Maggie De Block invests 3.25 million in mobile health

In the context of the federal plan for eHealth, Minister of Social Affairs and Health, Maggie De Block announced a call for pilot projects with health applications and mobile devices.

Currently, there is no legislation on mobile applications, neither a legal framework or an existing remuneration model for caregivers. As the trial projects progress, the government will draw up possible measures. The objective is to provide a framework for Mobile Health applications (mHealth) to be integrated into the health care system. The federal government provides 3.25 million euros for this pilot case on mobile health.

Practical information
The call will open at the end of June for three months. Submit a pilot project, by sending an email to mobilehealth@riziv.fgob.be. Projects will be selected in the fall and tested during 2017. The criteria for quality and validation procedures required for ‘Mobile Health’ applications will be established. More information about the call, you will find on the website.
